A group of parents have alleged that a private school in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut district has issued a diktat to their students to get a haircut like Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. After the alleged order was given on Thursday, dozens of parents protested outside the school -- Rishabh Academy.
The school had warned that they will not allow students to enter the premises if they did not get the buzz haircut like that of CM Adityanath.
However, officials of the school have denied the allegations. According to the school, the parents of some students have hatched a conspiracy against the institution to damage their disciplinary policies.
"We will continue our efforts to maintain discipline in our institution," said Ranjeet Jain, the school's manager. He also added that the administration has simply asked the students to be properly dressed and wear a decent haircut.
No non-veg during recess
Besides facing accusations of asking students to sport the CM's haircut, the school had also allegedly banned consumption of non-vegetarian food during recess.
"The idea is to ensure that children lead a disciplined school life. As for the ban on non-vegetarian food, that has been the case always. It is unfortunate that a communal colour is being given to a trivial issue," a school management official was quoted as saying by IANS.
