An elderly woman was killed while three others, including her grandchildren, were injured on Saturday (June 3) when they were knocked down by a police jeep whose driver was trying to save a cow.

The incident took place in the Harriya township of Uttar Pradesh, when the deceased woman who has been identified as Usha Devi (60) was walking on the road with the others. According to the ppolice, the driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to save a cow and hit Devi. She was killed on the spot. Two of her granddaughters aged two and four along with another person have been admitted to a district hospital.
A case has been registered against the driver of the police jeep.
