In probably the first such case in Uttar Pradesh, the Muzaffarnagar Police used a drone to nab a thief.

The thief was reportedly at large after looting Rs 6 lakh from a trader, but the Muzaffarnagar Police caught up with him with the help of a drone, according to the ANI news agency. 

ANI also posted photos of the police using the drone to catch the thief. 

There were two or more people involved in the robbery, according to NDTV Hindi, and the police managed to nab one of them. 

In some countries, police have been using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and drones for tracking criminals, such as the police department in North Dakota in the United States, according to this article in The Guardian
