At least five people were killed and six injured in a mine blast in Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhadra district on Thursday, said reports.
The injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital with the help of local residents. Many others were still feared trapped under the debris, as per reports.
The incident took place at Markundi stone quarry in Raspahadi area of Sonbhadra district, where explosive was stored illegally.
This is reportedly the second such explosion in Sonbhadra district since 2012.
