At least 11 people, including 10 members of a family were found dead at their residence in Amethi in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, January 4. Besides, the body of the landlord was also found hanging from the ceiling, police said.
While the deceased members of the ill-fated family include eight children and two women, two other members were found critically injured and were undergoing treatment in hospital. All the dead were found with their throats slit.
The gruesome crime took place at Mahona West village under Shukul Bazaar Police Station in Amethi. The bodies were discovered in the morning, the police told News 18.
A big police team was sent to the spot where the local people had gathered in huge numbers.
District police chief Santosh Kumar Singh was is investigating the case and he was assisted by other senior police officers.
