Kamal Haasan, who is awaiting the release of his upcoming film "Uthama Villain", will next be seen in a Tamil thriller film set in Mauritius.
Recently, the "Dasavathaaram" actor was spotted in Mauritius and various media reports stated that he was there to finalise the shooting location for his next film.
Now, a source close to the actor has confirmed the upcoming project, which might also be directed by Kamal.
"Kamal sir recently returned from locating scouting in Mauritius for his next film, which will be a thriller with high-octane action. He has plans to direct it as well," according to IANS.
A few days ago, Kamal's name was linked with a Bollywood project after he met producers Virender Arora and Arjun K Kapoor. The film, which was planned two years ago, will reportedly go on floors in November.
"Our collaboration with Haasan will be mounted on a sweeping scale as it delves into forbidden political corridors and the nexus with the underworld," Arjun K Kapoor confirmed, according to Times of India.
Meanwhile, the actor is also expecting the releases of "Vishwaroopam 2" and "Papanasam".
"Vishwaroopam 2"
Written and directed by Kamal, the upcoming spy thriller film is the sequel of the controversial film "Vishwaroopam" and stars Kamal, Rahul Bose, Pooja Kumar and Andrea Jeremiah in the lead roles. The film is expected to release in April 2015. The flick will be released in Hindi as "Vishwaroop II".
"Papanasam"
"Papanasam", which features Gautami in the female lead role, is the Tamil remake of Mohanlal-Jeethu Joseph's blockbuster hit Malayalam film "Drishyam". The film also has Asha Sarath, Anant Mahadevan, Kalabhavan Mani, Sreerag Nambiar and Niveda Thomas. Helmed by Jeethu, the thriller is expected to release later this year.
"Marudhanayagam"
Directed and produced by Kamal, the high budget film "Marudhanayagam" has been shelved for quite a long time due to financial issues.
