US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has labelled Republican rival Donald Trump a danger to the country. The former Secretary of State slammed the New York businessman on NBCs Meet the Press on 22 May.
Clinton said: Look what hes done this past week. Attacking our closest ally, England. Heaping praise on a dangerous dictator in North Korea. Reiterating his call to pull out of Nato, our strong military alliance. Talking about letting other countries have nuclear weapons. Advocating a return to torture, and even murdering the families of suspected terrorists. That is beyond the pale.
Donald Trump said recently that he feared he may not have a good relationships with UK Prime Minister David Cameron if he did become president. Cameron called Trumps controversial proposals to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the USstupid and divisive.
Clinton also called for Trump to release his latest tax returns, something the Republican presumptive candidate seems reluctant to do. She added: If youve got someone running for president whos afraid to release his tax returns, because it will expose the fact that he pays no federal income tax, I think thats a big problem.
The Washington Post reported last week that for a number of years in the 1970s, Trump paid no income tax due to a tax loophole. Trump has stated before that he cant release his tax return because he was being audited by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Elsewhere, Trump recently secured the support of the National Rifle Association (NRA) in his campaign for the White House. Head of the NRAs lobbying arm Chirs Cox announced their support on 21 May.
