The US has turned out to be a good market for Nani again as his latest movie "Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gadha" has done a stupendous business in its first weekend. But, the Telugu film has failed to beat the opening weekend record of his previous film "Bhale Bhale Magadivoi."
"Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gadha" is in the top position among Indian movies in the US box office this weekend. The Tollywood entertainer minted Rs 3.14 crore ($ 460,671) from 120 screens in the US, reports Bollywood Hungama.
On the other end, "Bhale Bhale Magadivoi" was released in 113 screens from which it had earned Rs 4.8 crore ($ 718,378). Even though "Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gadha" was released in more screens than Nani's previous film, it could not beat Maruthi Dasari's Telugu flick, which was released in September 2015.
However, "Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gadha" ruled the US box office by beating Bollywood, Tamil and other Indian movies. Hindi film "Fitoor" is in the second position by raking in Rs 1.84 crore ($269,085) from 147 screens.
Akshay Kumar's "Airlift" was played on 35 screens in its fourth weekend and the total business of the film stands at Rs 12.28 crore ($1,804,937). Malayalam film "Action Hero Biju" is in the fourth place and the total collection of the film stands at Rs 29.24 lakh ($43,996) by the end of its second weekend.
"Ghayal Once Again," "Visaaranai," "Irudhi Suttru," "Paavada," "Nannaku Prematho," "Bajirao Mastani," "Soggade Chinni Nayana," and a few other films from India were screened in the US this weekend.
Meanwhile, "Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gadha" has made decent collection at the domestic box office. As per trade tracker Andhra Box Office, the Telugu movie has grossed Rs 6.1 crore from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions.
The estimated worldwide collection of "Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gadha" stands at Rs 10.86 crore.
