Upendra's much-hyped movie "Uppi 2", which will be released on 14 August, is clashing with a few biggies in Bengaluru. The Kannada film will be facing the heat on home turf from one Kannada movie and three non-Kannada films.

"Uppi 2" is Upendra's directorial comeback. Hence, the Kannada film has generated hype and made people keenly wait for the release. The advance booking has already started and the response is apparently encouraging.

At this stage, 100 shows have been confirmed for the movie and it is expected to cross 130 before Friday as there is a huge demand for tickets.

However, it appears that the simultaneous release of other both Kannada and non-Kannada films is having some impact on the box office prospects of the film, as theatre owners are finding it difficult to allocate screens for all the releases.

Here is a list of movies that will be released during the Independence Day weekend.

Hindi movie 'Brothers'
The Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez starrer is poised for a good run at the box office. As of now, 145 shows have been confirmed for the release day and it is likely to cross 160. This is quite an achievement for a Bollywood movie, factoring in the fact that are many regional films vying for theatres.

The positive vibes around the movie has helped the film to get such a huge number of screens, say trade experts. The film has been bankrolled by Karan Johar.

"Buguri"
Golden Star Ganesh would not have wanted to see his milestone 25th movie clashing with big films. Even attempts to avoid a clash with "Uppi 2" failed to get positive results.

The movie has been directed by MD Sridhar. The film has Richa Panai, Erica Fernandes and Sadhu Kokila in key roles. So far, 50 shows in Bengaluru have been confirmed and the makers would be happy if "Buguri" gets somewhere around 70 shows on the release day.

'Vaalu'
Tamil movie "Vaalu" starring Simbu and Hansika Motwani is a romantic-comedy movie.

Due to the intense competition, "Vaalu" is not getting as many shows as it deserves. So far, only 32 shows have been confirmed and the makers might be happy if it crosses 50 before its release on Friday.

'Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga'
Arya, Santhanam and Tamanna Bhatia starrer "Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga" is a comedy film directed by M Rajesh. This film surprisingly has got more screens than "Vaalu". As of now, 43 shows have been confirmed and it might come close to 60 before its Friday release.
