Xiaomi is bringing back the best-selling unboxed, refurbished Redmi 1S budget smartphones to India after successfully testing the new sales model back in January.
To attract the crowd towards this new sales strategy, Xiaomi is selling the handsets at a discounted price without registrations or flash sales. The sale for unboxed Redmi 1S will be conducted via Overcart online retail store starting today at 2PM.
The unboxed Redmi 1S smartphones that will go on sale will not be entirely new but they will be restored to perfect condition. Overcart is offering six-month warranty on the devices and also 14-day return guarantee. The unboxed Redmi 1S will be priced at Rs. 4,999 instead of the original price of Rs. 5,999. Moreover, Redmi 1S is no longer available as new purchase so those who wish to buy the handset must get it through Overcart.
To refresh your memory about the handset's specs, Redmi 1S sports a 4.7-inch HD display with 312ppi. It is powered by a 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor paired with Adreno 305 GPU. There is also 1GB RAM to support the processor along with 8GB of internal storage with microSD card expansion. The handset features an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 1.6MP front snapper.
Additionally, the handset is powered by a 2,000mAh battery and supports dual SIM networks. It is based on Google's aging Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS with MIUI 5 on top.
Xiaomi has noted that the stocks are limited and will be sold entirely on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you really wish to get your hands on the Redmi 1S, be sure to place your order at the earliest minute. The sale starts in a few minutes. The countdown is ticking.
