American motorcycle manufacturer UM Motorycles has received 1,000 bookings for its Renegade range of motorcycles in less than two months since it started India operation. The range includes Renegade Commando and Renegade Sport S.
The Miami-based motorcycle manufacturer launched India set-up at the Auto Expo 2016 in the beginning of February. UM opened booking for both the bikes online on Feb.9.
While the Renegade Commando costs Rs.1.59 lakh, the Renegade Sport S is priced at Rs.1.49 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Booking is open for a token amount of Rs.5,000 and delivery is expected to begin soon via its 25 new dealerships across the country.
Both the Renegade Commando and the Sport S are powered by a single-cylinder, liquid cooled, 279.5cc engine that develops 24.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 21.8Nm of torque at 7,000rpm, mated to six-speed transmission. The suspension duties in both the Renegade cruiser motorcycles are handled by hydraulic telescopic 41mm at the front and twin hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear.
The Renegade Commando measures 2,257 in length, 1,140 in height, 780mm in width and has wheelbase of 1,545mm. On the other hand, the Renegade Sport S measures 2,227 in length, 1,100 in height, 860mm in width and has wheelbase of 1545mm. Both the motorcycles come with ground clearance of 150mm and fuel tank capacity of 18litres. UM retails Commando in three colours — black shine, green matt and grey matt, while the Sports S is offered in shiny black, orange and red.
