American two-wheeler manufacturer UM Motorcycles has expanded its reach in India with its 12th dealership in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The new showroom, named UM Indore, is the company's first dealership centre in the state.
Located at 71, Khajrana Road, Indore, the UM Indore is spread over an area of approximately 1,500 sq ft and comes with integrated after-sales service. UM Motorcycles, which opened its India chapter in 2016, currently has showrooms in Lucknow, Delhi, Raipur, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Jaipur, Gurugram and Vadodara.
"At UM Motorcycles we believe that the freedom of motorcycling across the India has gone extreme with machines that are super-sized, ungainly and expensive to buy and own," said Rajeev Mishra, Director, UML. "While a lot of these attributes will continue to remain in motorcycling, there is a space for something very different. Our unique form of motorcycling is centered around the idea of an absolute connects between the rider, his bike and the terrain he rides through."
UM Motorcycles began its journey in India with two cruiser bike models — Renegade Commando and the Renegade Sport S. Both the motorcycles come powered by a 280cc single-cylinder water-cooled engine that develops 25bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 21.8Nm of torque at 7,000rpm, mated to six-speed transmission.
The Renegade Commando has been priced at Rs 1.59 lakh while Renegade Sport S costs Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). UM is expected to bring the Renegade Classic in India in March. The third motorcycle of UM will be priced at Rs 1.69 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
