American two-wheeler manufacturer UM Motorcycles has set up its eighth dealership centre in India in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Located at Akash Automobiles, Ashtavinayak (V) Tower, Azad Chowk on GE Road, the new dealership showroom is called UM Raipur.
Spread over 2,500 square ft, the new dealership centre will showcase Renegade Commando and Renegade Sports S. UM Motorcycles started its journey in India with Renegade Commando and Renegade Sport S at the Auto Expo 2016.
"This showroom in Raipur marks our entry in the state of Chhattisgarh. The state has emerged as a very strong market in the central region for cruiser bikes and is yet another milestone after the successful Indian launch of the UM Motorcycles. We are confident that this state-of-the-art showroom will be able to fulfill the aspirations and needs of our customers with our amazing products and fabulous services," Rajeev Mishra, director, UM Motorcycles India, said.
The Renegade Commando and Renegade Sport S are said to have received over 4,000 bookings in india. UM has priced Renegade Commando at Rs. 1.59 lakh and Renegade Sport S at Rs. 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Both the motorcycles come powered by a 280cc single-cylinder water-cooled engine that develops 25bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 21.8Nm of torque at 7,000rpm, mated to six-speed transmission.
Renegade Commando measures 2,257mm in length, 1,140mm in height, 780mm in width and has a wheelbase of 1,545mm. On the other hand, the Renegade Sport S measures 2,227mm in length, 1,100 mm in height, 860mm in width and has a wheelbase of 1,545 mm. Both the motorcycles come with a ground clearance of 150 mm and fuel tank capacity of 18 litres.
UM is expected to bring the Renegade Classic in India in March. The third motorcycle of UM will be priced at Rs 1.69 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Bookings for Renegade Classic are expected to start in January 2017.
