UM Motorcycles India is reportedly planning to launch two new variants of its Renegade range of bikes. As per the Facebook post of UM Motorcycles' Bhopal dealer, the new variants are Commando Black Cat and carburetted engine equipped version of the Renegade Sport S.
UM Renegade Commando Black Cat is essentially a new colour option. The new variant is offered in Matte Black finish while Renegade Commando is also offered in the existing Matt Moss Green, Black Shine (gloss black) and Burgundy Shine colours.
UM Motorcycles India currently retails Renegade Commando at Rs 1.82 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and the new variant is also expected to be offered with no increase in price.
The second variant is the carburetted engine equipped version of Renegade Sport S. All the Renegade range of bikes are currently powered by a 280cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled fuel injection engine that can develop 25bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 21.8Nm of torque at 7,000rpm, teamed with a six-speed transmission. However, the power figures of the carburetted version Commando Sport S could be slightly lesser than the fuel injected unit.
The move is expected to reduce the price of the motorcycle by at least Rs 15,000. The current Renegade Sport S is priced at 1.66 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
In addition to the two new variants, UM Motorcycles India will launch the 230cc bikes, Renegade Duty S and Renegade Duty Ace, in the upcoming festive season. Revealed at Auto Expo 2018 in February and priced Rs 1.10 lakh, ex-showroom, the Renegade Duty twins are powered by are powered by 223cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine that develops 17bhp of power at 8,000rpm and 17Nm of torque at 5,000rpm, mated to a five-speed transmission. UM claims both the Duty range motorcycles will return about 41kmpl fuel efficient as per ARAI certification.
The Duty Ace comes in café racer styled covered pillion seat while the Duty S gets full-size seats for rider and pillion. In addition, the Duty S comes with solid matte colour options while the Duty Ace gets a sportier dual-colour option.
The Renegade Duty range has single-pod instrument console. An LED UM logo below the round headlamp, LED lights on all four sides, blind-spot mirrors, puncture-resistant tyres and a wider seat are the other notable additions to the Renegade Duty twins.
