American motorcycle manufacturer UM entered India at the Auto Expo 2016 with the launch of its Renegade cruiser bike range. Unlike the other big manufacturers who entered India with five or six dealerships and expanded it later, UM Motorcycle is confident about its future in the Indian market and set up 25 dealerships across the country.
The Facebook page of UM Motorcycle India shared image that explains new dealerships. The dealer network will include showrooms in Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Lucknow, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Surat, Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Thane, Kolhapur, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Kochi, Coimbatore, Chennai, Madurai, Guwahati, Imphal and Aizawl.
The company has already opened bookings for the two motorcycles at the Auto Expo and the dealerships will also accept bookings now. The deliveries of the Renegade range are expected to start soon.
UM Renegade Commando has been priced at Rs 1.59 lakh, while the Sport S comes with a price tag of Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Both motorcycles draw power from a 280cc single-cylinder water cooled engine that can develop 25bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 21.8Nm of torque at 7,000rpm, mated to six-speed transmission. The Commando will come in three colours (black shine, green matt and grey matt), while the Sports S will be offered in shinny black, orange and red.
