Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC held a global launch event for its HTC One smartphone in February.
During the HTC One launch in Bangalore, Manu Seth, Marketing Director, HTC India said, "HTC One would hit the retail shelves in India by second half of April 2013, most probably between the third or last week of the month.", reported Gizbot.
However, it remains to be seen if the Indian consumers really can get their hands on the new HTC smartphone in April, as global news publishers are reporting that the company is facing major supply shortages.
HTC One is set to launch in Europe and US this month. To compensate demands in the West, the flagship smartphone release in major countries of Asia, which were scheduled to get shipments in March, will be pushed to April or May in extreme scenarios.
The new HTC smartphone has received rave reviews by tech critics all over the world, especially its 468 pixels per inch display resolution and the the its ultra-pixel camera, touted to be the world's first.
One of the main attraction of 'HTC One' is its main camera, a 2.0 -ultrapixel rear camera (equivalent to 4.0-megapixel), but don't get fooled by the number. The company claims that their camera is more futuristic than the conventional high-resolution camera totting smartphones.
HTC said that the custom-buillt camera features a f/2.0 aperture lens and a breakthrough sensor with UltraPixels that can absorb 300 percent more light than any other smartphone camera sensors. The camera also features a dedicated imaging chip and multi-axis optical image stabilization to ensure smoother video footage taken during the move or in a stationary position.
