Since defeating Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 to become the first UFC star to hold two titles at the same time, Conor McGregor has been pursuing a boxing match against legend Floyd Mayweather. The UFC lightweight champion made it clear that his next fight would be inside a boxing ring and after months and months of trash talking, the fight is actually set to happen.
Both McGregor and Mayweather seem confident that the match will take place sometime this year. However, there is no official word on the date or venue yet. McGregor is expected to get back to UFC after his fight against Mayweather and the Irishman might already have an opponent ready to face him.

Two-time Olympic gold medalist and current WBO super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko recently tweeted asking McGregor if he should try fighting in the UFC. Lomachenko has a background in wrestling, judo, and Russian grappling art of sambo and could be willing to crossover to MMA to fight McGregor.
I used to win many wrestling, judo, and sambo tournaments as a kid. Should I try fighting in the @ufc ? What do you think @TheNotoriousMMA?

Last month McGregor posted on Instagram and sort of insulted boxers by saying: "Not much will change when I fight under the famed, yet very limited, Queensbury rules. No disrespect to single discipline fighters, from boxing to kicking to grappling, just know that understanding one style of fighting is simply not enough."
To some extent, McGregor is right when he says boxing is limited as many boxers who switched to MMA ended up losing badly in the past. However, a number of boxers have also been really successful post the switch.
The best example from the UFC is Holly Holm. The former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion was a professional boxer before she made the switch to MMA. She holds a record of 33 wins from 38 bouts and 10 wins and just three losses in her MMA career.
