The makers of Abhishek Chaubey's "Udta Punjab" will soon release the trailer of the film. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor Khan, the much-awaited movie has been scheduled to be released June 17.
Shahid has recently shared his look from the film on social media with the caption: "Coming soon." He is shooting the final schedule of his another upcoming movie "Rangoon" at present and while tweeting about it, he hinted at the "Udta Punjab" trailer release.
"Kicking off the final schedule for #Rangoon today. Will wrap the film in April. My third with the maestro vishal sir. So much still to learn," Shahid tweeted, "Fortunate and blessed to have so many chances to work under him. Also #udtapunjab up next. Stuff coming up soon. Very soon."
Not only did Shahid suggest "stuff coming up (very) soon," but a leading daily also reported regarding the trailer release. "The team is looking for an exact date to launch the trailer. It will only happen around April 10," DNA quoted a source as saying.
In fact, according to the leading daily, Kareena Kapoor Khan has also confirmed the report. Whether the publication is playing an April Fools' Day prank or the reports are actually true, only time will tell. However, fans expect it to be correct as they have expressed their excitement on Twitter for the trailer release.
Former lovebirds Shahid and Kareena will be seen on the big screen after their 2007 release "Jab We Met," while Alia will share screen space with the "Haider" actor for the second time after "Shaandaar." Although the ex-couple are part of the project, the duo will not share screen space in the film.
In the film, Alia plays a daily wage labourer from Bihar who comes to Punjab in search of work, but ends up becoming a victim to drug trafficking that is prevalent in the region. Kareena plays the role of a doctor from Amritsar.
"Udta Punjab" will revolve around the increasing problem of drug abuse in Punjab and the flick also features Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh.
