Udaya Studios, which is one of the oldest film production companies in Malayalam established by late director-producer Kunchacko in 1947, is all set to make its comeback to the field of production.
Actor Kunchacko Boban, who is the grandson of the late producer, announced the comeback of the studio with Sidhartha Siva's directorial venture in a recent press meet in Ernakulam. The upcoming movie titled "Kochanavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho" has Kunchacko Boban in the lead and the makers have already announced a casting call for two children aged between 8 and 14. Actor Sudheesh's son Rudraksh is said to be making his acting debut as a child artiste in the movie.
After "Kochanavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho," the next production venture of Udaya Studios will be a Lal Jose directorial. Some of the hit movies produced under the banner include "Unniyarcha" (1961), "Othenante Makan" (1970), "Aromalunni" (1972), "Ponnapuram Kotta" (1973), "Thacholi Ambu" (1978), "Kadathanattu Makkam" (1978) and "Palattu Kunjikannan" (1980) among others.
Kunchacko Boban, who is basking in the success of Rajesh Pillai's movie "Vettah" with Manju Warrier and Indrajith Sukumaran, will be next seen in debutant Rishi Shiva Kumar's "Valliyum Thetti Pulliyum Thetti," which is set to hit the theatres as a Vishu treat. He has also started the filming of Rosshan Andrews' upcoming movie "School Bus" with Jayasurya and Aparna Gopinath.
