Child artist Spandan Chaturvedi, who won hearts with the portrayal of Chakor in Colors' hit show "Udaan," will soon bid adieu to the show.
According to a DNA report, the show will take a 10-year leap and after that Chakor will be seen as a mature 18-year-old athlete. TV actress Vidhi Pandya of "Balika Vadhu" fame has been roped in to play the role of grown-up Chakor.
Excited to join the cast of "Udaan," Vidhi told the daily that she would put her best foot forward to woo the show's dedicated viewers.
"Chakor has become a household name by now and I am very excited to continue her legacy on Udaan. It will be my best effort to take forward the baton of Chakor the same way Spandan has been carrying it right from the beginning," Vidhi told DNA. "I am certain that not only will I be able to add value to the character, but it will also help me grow as an actor in the long run. All in all, I hope Udaan will be a learning and fulfilling journey," the actress added.
Apart from "Balika Vadhu," Vidhi had been a part of "Tum Aise Hi Rehna." According to a Telly Chakkar report, post-leap, "Udaan" will revolve around Chakor's struggle as a mature lady.
"The show will now focus on Chakor's personal life and her struggle as a mature adult to bring freedom to the members of his community. Though the production was keen on roping Rachna Parulkar, the channel finalised on Vidhi," a source told Telly Chakkar.
