Far Cry 5 is expected to release sometime before April 2018, but there is still no word on the exact release window for the other three game titles. Meanwhile, Ubisoft has teased the announcement of Far Cry 5 on its official Twitter account. A tweet prompts fans to subscribe to Ubisoft's US version of the YouTube channel for more updates on the upcoming sequel.
Furthermore, a dedicated section for Far Cry 5 has surfaced on official Ubisoft forums. The tweet also features the official Far Cry 5 logo for the upcoming game in Ubisoft's popular franchise.
According to gaming website Polygon, the next instalment in the Far Cry series will be set in the American West, specifically in Montana. This claim is further strengthened by another report by Great Falls Tribune, suggesting that the company recently sent a crew from its Paris office to a church near Poplar, Montana, for shooting some footage that could be used for promotion of an unspecified video game, which is set for release in September.
The report adds that The Crew 2 will be a direct sequel to the original game that was launched in 2014. The community manager at Ubisoft has confirmed its release by posting a logo on official forums.
The next iteration in the Assassin's Creed franchise is expected to be a prequel to Assassin's Creed Syndicate. The game will be set in ancient Egypt with the title 'Assassin's Creed Origins.'
Finally, South Park: The Fractured But Whole will be a direct sequel to Stick the Truth and its release date has been delayed from its scheduled release for December 2016.
Meanwhile, the company's chief financial officer, Alain Martinez, has hinted at the release of another multiplayer game with strong live operations. The revelation was made in the company's recent investor call and now various rumours suggest that it could be a space-based science fiction game.
Ubisoft is expected to reveal more details about its upcoming AAA titles at the E3 press conference on June 12 at 1pm PST.
