The latest actor cast as Superman, Tyler Hoechlin, recently spoke about playing the iconic character in the upcoming season 2 of "Supergirl" and shared how he intends to stay away from any comparisons from Henry Cavill's version of the Man of Steel.
Mail Online caught up with the actor at the Sydney Film Festival premiere of "Everybody Wants Some!!" and asked whether he's feeling the pressure of playing the popular DC superhero.
"I never try to compare and contrast performances," he said, "because it's such an iconic character already. Superman is Superman so I'm just going to try to carry on the tradition of that and play that part." (via ComicBookMovie)
Interestingly, Hoechlin went on to seemingly confirm that we'll see both Superman as well as Clark Kent in "Supergirl Season 2," this Fall. "I think the fun is going to be finding where Clark Kent is in this world. I'm just excited to find out Clark's sense of humour."
Reportedly, Superman will appear in the first two episodes of "Supergirl" Season 2 where he will visit his cousin Supergirl/Kara in National City. Talking about Hoechlin's casting, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said in an earlier interview: "Greg [Berlanti] and I have wanted to work with Tyler for ages, so this worked out perfectly because Tyler is Superman. We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character."
