Two high school teachers in California were arrested by the Orange County Sheriff's Department for having sex with their students at a beach party.
Melody Lippert, 38, and Michelle Ghirelli, 30, teachers at South Hills High School were arrested over the weekend after allegedly seducing their students at a "boozy sex party," reported LA Times.
It is understood that during a beach party at the San Clemente Beach in November, Lippert distributed alcohol among several under-age students, before engaging in sexual activities with a male student.
A few weeks later, she set up an overnight camping trip to the same beach with Ghirelli, who used to teach at South Hills before being assigned to work in the school district's offices.
The two women are alleged of having sex with students during the camping trip, which was not sanctioned by the school. The crimes came to light when school district officials learned of the teachers' possible activity and called West Covina Police Department.
Lippert, who was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail. No sex crime charges have been raised against her, as she engaged in sexual relations with an 18-year-old boy. Meanwhile, Ghirelli is facing possible charges of oral copulation and unlawful sex with a minor.
The duo was released by Sunday afternoon, according to an Orange County jail website, and is scheduled to be brought to the court on Wednesday. They have been put on paid administrative leave and removed from the classroom as of Sunday.
