Karun Nair might not have started his Test career on a bright note, compiling just 17 runs in his first two matches, but he made amends with an incredible performance in the fifth Test in Chennai. The right-hander was at his amazing best as he scored 303 runs against England on Monday.
READ: Who is Karun Nair?
This is one of the major landmarks in Indian cricket history, as Nair, with this triple ton, has become only the second Indian to do so. Virender Sehwag is the only other Indian batsman to have achieved this magical feat.
Nair, who came into bat at number five for India, after the dismissal of Virat Kohli on Day 3, looked in complete control of his innings. He was not troubled much by the pacers nor the spinners, who were dealt accordingly. As he spent a longer time at the crease, he looked even more confident, and scored runs all around the ground with his incredible range of shots, dominating the bowlers as well.
The right-hander scored 303 runs from 381 balls, comprising 32 fours and four sixes.
With India in serious need of declaration, Nair had to score runs at a quicker rate to complete his maiden triple hundred. As soon as Nair completed the magical ton, Kohli declared the innings, and Nair remained unbeaten in Chennai.
Twitter went berserk as the middle-order batsman was praised by all and sundry on Twitter for his incredible achievement. Here are some interesting tweets.

Converting your 1st test century into a triple ton is tougher than converting all your Rs2000 notes to 100s. Well place @karun126 #IndvsEng
