A new prototype of TVS' Jupiter has been spied upon undergoing testing in the country, a clear indication that the arrival of the new model is due shortly. TVS currently sells Jupiter 110cc scooter in India and the same was updated recently with a new colour shade and BS-IV engine.
The new model could be the 125cc version of the scooter, according to Rushlane, which shared the images of the new Jupiter. With TVS Jupiter 125, the company could be eyeing the 125cc segment, which has seen the domination of Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125.
The latest spy images show a fully camouflaged TVS Jupiter, leaving everything to imagination. Judging from the images, while the scooter's overall body proportion looks similar to the current Jupiter in the market, additions like disc brake at the front and fuel-injected powerplant seem to have been made. There are no details available on the engine of the new Jupiter yet.
Currently, the Jupiter is powered by a 109cc engine, which can churn out 7.88bhp of power at 7500 rpm along with the peak torque of 8Nm at 5500rpm. The scooter flaunts an Econometer, which guides riders in both Eco Mode and Power Mode, and the engine delivers better fuel economy in Eco mode.
When the model was updated in the country, the company added features such as Auto Headlamp On (AHO) and Sync Braking System (SBS). The SBS system automatically activates the front brakes when the rear brakes are used. The Jupiter is currently sold at Rs. 49,666 (ex-showroom Delhi).
