TVS Motor Company launched the new flagship model for the Apache series christened as Apache RTR 200 4V priced at Rs 88,990 ex-showroom, New Delhi. The first 200cc motorcycle from TVS, Apache RTR 200 4V takes its design cues from the Draken X21 concept TVS showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo.
It is commendable that the manufacturer didn't over do on the design and the outcome is a simple and clean look. The motorcycle features athletic design which is spot on for street fighter category.
The Apache 200 4V comes with LED daytime running lamps and tail lamps. The sculpted fuel tank is similar to the Draken X21 concept and it features tank shrouds. The seats are split for better visibility of the pillion and unique exhaust pipe sums up the new design of the 200cc Apache. The new motorcycle will also come with full LED instrument cluster with top speed indicator and lap timer stressing racing DNA of the motorcycle
Based on the double cradle split Syncro stiff frame, the Apache RTR 200 4V will employ telescopic front suspension and mono-suspension at rear. The braking is taken care of by 270mm disc at front and 240mm disc at rear. The motorcycle runs on 90/90 section front and 130/70 section rear tyres in 17 inch wheels.
The motorcycle is powered by 197.75cc oil-cooled engine available in both carbureted and fuel injected variants. The carbureted version will make 20.3bhp, while the fuel injected versions will make 21bhp at 8500 rpm. In both variants torque output remains the same at 18.1 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The engine is mated to five-speed gearbox. While the carbureted version needs a minimum of 3.95 seconds to reach 60kmph before topping out at 128kmph, the FI model requires 3.9 seconds and comes with top speed of 129kmph.
The FI version with Pirelli tyres is priced at Rs 1.07 lakh, while the ABS version, which will be launched later in 2016, is priced at Rs 1.15 lakh. All prices, ex-showroom Delhi.
