TVS in partnership with German two-wheeler manufacturer BMW Motorrad is reportedly set for the launch of its bike based on the Akula 310, a track-bred bike concept in India, in the second quarter of the year. A report of ET Auto reveals that the company has confirmed the model launch any time between July and August.
In the market, Akula 310 bike is likely to get its production name as Apache RR 310S. The bike has been testing on the Indian roads for quite some time now and has been caught on camera on numerous occasions including videos of the Apache RR 310S being chased by different models of its competitors in the Indian Market. Prominent of this was KTM's new 390 Duke that has already made its way to the market.
Talking of its production avatar, Akula 310 is likely to retain the design and styling although TVS Motors is expected to make minor tweaks in an attempt to make the upcoming offering glide seamlessly into a competitive bike segment in the country.
TVS Motor Company had unveiled Akula 310, a track-bred bike concept at Auto Expo 2016 to celebrate 33rd anniversary of TVS as a factory team in motorsports arena. The production version of the Akula 310 will be the fastest and most powerful motorcycle of TVS. On the engine front, the Akula 310 and the BMW G 310 R will share the same 310cc engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. The upcoming TVS motorcycle is expected to get features such as upside down front forks, DRLs, LED tail-lamps and ABS. Rumours suggest that the TVS Akula is likely to get a price tag of sub Rs. 2 lakh.
