TVS Motor Company's flagship motorcycle, the Akula 310 is expected to enter market by the end of financial year 2016-17. The motorcycle has been rumoured with the name Raptor and it has caught testing again.
The picture posted by MotorOctane shows small details since the motorcycle is fully camouflaged. However, the silhouette indicates it will do justice to the concept version the company showcased at the Auto Expo 2016.
Developed with the expert knowhow of BMW Motorrad, TVS Motor Company's partner in small, under 500cc motorcycle development, the Akula 310 will be powered by a 310cc engine capable of producing 34bhp of power mated to a six-speed gearbox. This is the same engine that also powers the G 310 R motorcycle, BMW Motorrad revealed last year. The company claims high performance engine breathing through a forced, air-fed, air-box, that gives the engine a high rev peak capability.
TVS claims Akula 310 concept has been developed taking inputs from the factory race riders. The riders are also part of testing team for production-spec version. The concept was showcased at the Auto Expo with USD forks, stiff space frame chassis as well as lightweight carbon fibre bodywork. Other features include a digital speedometer, on-board gyro cameras and a steering damper for additional stability. The production-spec Akula 310 is also expected to carry the same features.
