Ever since Mouni Roy's Naagin 2 premiered on October 8, the supernatural show has been topping the Television Rating Charts (TRPs). However, the show has lost its top slot in Week 44 of 2016. Surprisingly, Shakti-Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki climbed to the first position, pushing Naagin 2 to the second slot.
According to data released by the television audience measurement agency, the Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC), Rubina Dilaik's show registered 6.8 million views in urban areas. The ongoing troubles in Soumya's life seem to be grabbing the viewers' attention. Naagin, on the other hand, managed to garner 6.6 million viewership, which is much lower than its previous week's viewership (7.9 million).
The third position was secured by The Kapil Sharma Show with 6.2 million views. Interestingly, for the past few weeks, the comedy show hadn't made it to the top five positions. Kumkum Bhagya retained its fourth position with 6 million views. Udaan registered 5.7 million views and managed to grab the fifth position.
Surprisingly, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, which was the third most-watched show the previous week, couldn't make it to the top five shows in Week 44. Another supernatural show Brahmarakshas-Jaag Utha Shaitan, which was one of the top shows during its initial episodes, has not been able to make it to the five most-watched shows in the past few weeks.
As for the ranking of television channels among urban areas, Colors TV continues to make it to the top, pushing Star Plus to the second spot. Ongoing reality show Bigg Boss 10, seems to be the reason for Colors TV channel's success. It was followed by Sony SAB, Sony Entertainement Television, Zee TV. The other top channels are Life OK, &TV, Sony Pal, Zee Anmol and Rishtey.
