Colors' "Naagin" has once again topped the Television Rating Points (TRPs) in week 20 (May 14 to May 20) of 2016. According to the data released by Broadcast Audience Research Council India, the television audience measurement agency, the Mouni Roy and Arjun Bijlani-starrer supernatural show scored 4.3 TRPs.
Way behind "Naagin" was Raman and Ishita's "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein," which secured the second spot with 3.3 TRPs. The tussle between Raman and Ishita after the leap seems to have been keeping its viewers hooked to the show.
"Kumkum Bhagya" scored 3.1 points while "Saath Nibhaana Saathiya," which scored 2.7 the previous week, witnessed a slight increase in its rating (2.8) in week 20.
"India's Got Talent" has once again topped the list in the non-fiction category beating "The Kapil Sharma Show" and "Comedy Nights Live." "India's Got Talent" scored 2.3 TRPs, while "The Kapil Sharma Show" received 2 points, which is higher than its previous week's 1.8 points.
"Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai" with its interesting twists and turns managed to get 2.1 points. Surprisingly, "Swaragini," which recently saw a major twist in its storyline with Swara (Helly Shah) falling off a cliff and losing her memory, didn't see a major difference in its ratings (1.8). "Diya Aur Baati Hum" and "Siya Ke Ram" scored 1.7 and 1.6 TRPs, respectively.
As for the channels, Star Plus made it to the top among the urban areas, followed by Colors TV, Zee TV, Life OK, Sony SAB. In the rural areas, Sony Pal, Star Utsav, Zee Anmol were the top scorers. TRP is a tool to measure viewers' preferred programmes and the popularity of a particular channel based on data collected from a particular geography and demography.
