Colors' supernatural "Naagin" has made a record of sorts by ruling the Television Rating Point (TRP) charts since its inception. Mouni Roy and Arjun Bijlani's show scored 5 points on week 14 (April 2 to April 8) of 2016, according to the data released by Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India, the television audience measurement agency.
Abhi-Pragya's "Kumkum Bhagya" secured the second position, while "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" took the third spot with 3.1 points. Going by "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" score, it appears like the post-leap storyline of Raman (Karan Patel) and Ishita's (Divyanka Tripathi) show, has been keeping its viewers engrossed.
The fourth in the list of top scorers was "Saath Nibhaana Saathiya," followed by "Sasural Simar Ka," which scored 2.4 points. "Diya Aur Baati Hum" and "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai" also scored 2.4 TRPs. Ekta Kapoor's new show "Kasam," which has Ssharad Malhotra and Kratika Sengar Dheer in the lead roles, has been impressing viewers with interesting twists, thereby garnering 2.2 points in week 14. "Kasam" is at par with popular show "Swaragini" this time as well. In week 12, both "Kasam" and "Swaragini" had scored 2.2 TRPs.
"Balika Vadhu," which will soon take a generation leap and introduce new cast, got 2 points, which is the same as "Udaan" and "Chakravartin Ashok Samrat." The historical show "Chakravartin Ashok Samrat" will soon see Mohit Raina as the grown-up warrior Ashoka. Mohit will carry on with the legacy of Sidhharth Nigam, who won hearts with excellent performance as young Ashoka Samrat. With the show taking a leap, the TRPs of the show are expected to increase as well.
"Siya Ke Ram," which is currently revolving around Ram (Ashish Sharma), Sita (Madirakshi Mundle) and Lakshman's (Karan Suchak) vanwaas (exile), managed to score 1.9 points.
As for the channels, Star Plus is once again at the top followed by Colors TV, Zee TV, Zee Anmol, Sony Pal, Star Utsav, Like OK, Rishtey, SAB TV.
