Mouni Roy and Arjun Bijlani's supernatural series "Naagin" continued to top the Television Rating Point (TRP) charts with 5 points on week 12 (March 19-25) of 2016, according to the data released by Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India, the television audience measurement agency.
The second in the list of top scorers was "Kumkum Bhagya," while "Saath Nibhaana Saathiya" secured the third spot with 3.2 TRPs. Ishita (Divyanka Tripathi) and Raman's (Karan Patel) "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein," which landed in the third position in week 11, slipped to the fourth slot with 3.1 points.
Colors' "Sasural Simar Ka" got 2.4 TRPs, which is the same as Star Plus shows "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai" and "Diya Aur Baati Hum." Ekta Kapoor's new show "Kasam," which has Ssharad Malhotra and Kratika Sengar Dheer in the lead roles, is gradually impressing viewers with interesting twists, thereby garnering 2.2 points in week 12. "Kasam" is at par with popular show "Swaragini."
"Siya Ke Ram," which revolves around Ram (Ashish Sharma), Sita (Madirakshi Mundle) and Lakshman's (Karan Suchak), is also in the race with 1.9 points. "Thapki Pyar Ki" also scored 1.9 TRPs. In week 12, Krushna Abhishek's show "Comedy Nights Live" witnessed a drop in its ratings (1.7 TRPs) compared to its previous week's 2.7.
As for the channels, Star Plus is once again at the top followed by Zee TV, Zee Anmol, Sony Pal, Star Utsav, Like OK, Rishtey, SAB TV. TRP is a tool to measure viewers' preferred programmes and the popularity of a particular channel based on data collected from a particular geography and demography.
