Colors' "Naagin," which recently wrapped up its shoot, has topped the Television Rating Points (TRPs) yet again in week 22 (May 28 to June 3) of 2016. According to the data released by Broadcast Audience Research Council India, the television audience measurement agency, Arjun Bijlani and Mouni Roy's supernatural show scored 3.6 TRPs.
The second in the list of top scorers was "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" with a score of 3.1. The post-leap storyline of "Saath Nibhaana Saathiya" has not seen a major difference in its ratings as the show continued to secure the third position with 2.7 points. The show was on par with Abhi-Pragya's "Kumkum Bhagya."
"Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai," which has been engaging its viewer with interesting twists and turns after the time jump, secured the fourth position with 2.5 points in week 22. Ssharad Malhotra and Kratika Sengar's "Kasam," which secured the fifth slot on the previous week, climbed to the fourth position with 2.5 points as well.
"Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat" managed to get 2.1 points followed by new show "Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki," which scored 1.9 TRPs.
"India's Got Talent 7" continues to be the top scorer with 1.8 TRPs under non-fiction category. "Comedy Nights Bachao" managed to increase its rating and was at par with "India's Got Talent 7." "The Kapil Sharma Show," which had made it to the top slot the previous week, slipped to the second position with 1.7 points under the non-fiction category.
As for the channels, Star Plus made it to the top among the urban areas, followed by Colors TV, Zee TV, Life OK, Sony SAB, Sony Entertainment Television. TRP is a tool to measure viewers' preferred programmes and the popularity of a particular channel based on data collected from a particular geography and demography.
