Naagin 2, starring Mouni Roy and Karanvir Bohra, has once again topped the Television Rating Points (TRP) charts in week 42 (October 15-October 21) of 2016. The supernatural show registered 8.27 million views in urban areas, and 13.1 million views among urban and rural areas, according to data released by the television audience measurement agency, the Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC). The figures are slightly higher than the those in the show's opening week report.
The second in the list of top scorers in urban and rural areas is Shakti-Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, which recorded 12 million views. Although Rubina Dilaik's show secured the second rank, it witnessed a fluctuation in its ratings among the urban as well as rural areas from last week.
Kumkum Bhagya secured the third position with 11 million views, while the ongoing sequence of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, where the Bhalla and Iyer families were preparing for the wedding of the lead pair Raman (Karan Patel) and Ishita (Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya), helped the show climb the TRP chart. The show registered 10.5 million views, which is much higher than its last week's figures of 9.3 million views.
Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, which was at the second spot in week 41, managed to grab the fifth position in week 42 with 9.7 million views.
Surprisingly, the Krystle D'Souza-starrer Brahmarakshas-Jaag Utha Shaitan, which had been at the top slot for several weeks, failed to make it to the list of the five most-watched TV shows in week 42.
As for the ranking of television channels among urban and rural areas, Colors TV show overshadowed Star Plus, which had been at the top position for several weeks. The ongoing reality show, Bigg Boss 10, seems to be the reason for the channel's success. Star Plus slipped to the second slot. It was followed by Zee Anmol, Zee TV and Sony Pal. The other top channels are Star Utsav, Life OK, Sony Entertainment Television, Sony SAB and Rishtey.
