Abhi-Pragya's "Kumkum Bhagya" continues to rule the television rating points (TRPs). According to data, the Zee TV show received 12.2 million viewership in week 34 (Aug.20 to 26) of 2016 across both urban and rural areas.
Way behind "Kumkum Bhagya" was "Brahmarakshas- Jaag Utha Shaitaan" with 9.9 million views. Although the supernatural show has not been able to be at par with Mouni Roy and Arjun Bijlani's "Naagin," it surely has managed to beat several other popular TV shows.
"Saath Nibhaana Saathiya," which was recently witnessing a drop in its ratings, has grabbed the third position with 9.6 million views. It suggests that the re-entry of Mohammad Nazim is working wonders for the show's TRPs.
Raman and Ishita's "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" is losing audience attention as the show has now failed to make it to the top three for the past couple of months.
"Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki" secured the fifth position with 8.6 million views, while "The Kapil Sharma Show" received six million viewership.
As for the channels, Star Plus was once again at the top among both urban and rural areas. It was followed by Zee TV, Colors TV, Zee Anmol, Star Utsav, Life OK, Sony Pal, Sony SAB, Sony Entertainment Television and Rishtey. TRP is a tool to measure viewers' preferred programmes and the popularity of a particular channel based on data collected from a particular geography and demography.
