With Colors' weekend show "Naagin" coming to an end, the makers are leaving no stone unturned to keep the TRPs (Television Rating Point) high. The supernatural show once again scored the highest TRP rating, 5.7 (Saturday) and 5.9 (Sunday), in week 11 (March 12-18) of 2016, according to the data released by Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India, the television audience measurement agency.
The second in the list of top scorers is "Kumkum Bhagya" with 3.8 points, while "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" took the third spot with 3.4 TRPs. Ever since Divyanka Tripathi re-entered "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" in a new avatar, the show has been witnessing a considerable increase in its rating. "Saath Nibhaana Saathiya" has also scored 3.4 points.
Way behind "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" and "Saath Nibhaana Saathiya," "Comedy Nights Live" got 2.7 TRPs, thereby securing the fourth position in week 11 of TRP chart. In week 11, Krushna Abhishek's show witnessed an increase in its rating compared to the previous week's 1.5 points.
The rating of "Sasural Simar Ka" (2.6) remained unchanged in week 11 as well despite the show getting interesting with new supernatural track. "Swaragini" and "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai" scored 2.4 TRPs each. New show "Kasam" is also in the race with 2.4 points. The makers of "Diya Aur Baati Hum" are keeping its viewers engrossed with the interesting Indo-Pakistan track. The show scored 2.3 points in week 11 of the TRP chart.
As for the channels, Star Plus is at the top followed by Colors TV. Zee TV grabbed the third spot, followed by Sony Pal, Zee Anmol, Star Utsav, Like OK, Sony Pal, Rishtey, SAB TV and Sony TV.
TRP is a tool to measure viewers' favourite programmes and the popularity of a particular channel based on data collected from a particular geography and demography.
