British motorcycle manufacture Triumph is reportedly planning to launch the third model in its new Bonneville range — the Thruxton R — in India in the first week of June. According to a report in ZigWheels, the Triumph Thruxton R, which made its India debut at the Auto Expo 2016 in February, will be launched in the country on June 3.
The new generation Bonneville range of Triumph consists of three motorcycles — Street Twin, Bonneville T120 and Thruxton R. The company has already launched the Street Twin and Bonneville T120 in India with a price tag of Rs. 6.90 lakh and Rs. 8.70 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom Delhi).
Coming back to the Triumph Thruxton R, it comes with sporting ergonomics, clip-on bars, fully adjustable suspension and 17-inch front wheel. It has a 1200cc parallel-twin motor and will be offered in three colours — diablo red, silver ice and matte black. Other features include twin floating Brembo discs, Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tyres and single bullet seat. The engine of the Thruxton R has the capacity to churn out peak torque of 111Nm at 4950rpm and 96bhp of power at 6,750rpm.
Triumph is expected to price the new Thruxton R at about Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
