The bookings for the soon-to-be-launched Triumph Bonneville Street Twin have begun in the country.
Although there is no official word yet on the exact launch date of the new Street Twin, the dealers of the company have started accepting the bookings for the motorcycle with a down payment of Rs 1 lakh. Triumph Street Twin, which was revealed alongside Bonneville's new range a couple of weeks ago, is expected to be premiered at the upcoming Auto Expo 2016. Various reports on the web suggest that the deliveries of the new Bonneville Street Twin from the British manufactures Triumph will begin around April this year.
To be powered by a 900cc engine that is tuned to churn out 54bhp of maximum power at 5,900rpm and a peak torque of 80Nm at 3,200rpm, the Triumph Street Twin will be imported in India as a completely-knocked-down (CKD) unit. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed transmission.
The new Street Twin, inspired by the New Wave Custom Scene features Ride-by-wire, traction control and slip assist clutch. In addition to this, there is also ABS, USB charging socket and feature packed single clock. As for styling, Street Twin gets Stripped back styling, including minimal black painted mudguards, cast wheels finished in black and fuel tank with contemporary decals and stylish chrome filler cap.
The Street Twin is expected to be priced around Rs 7.5 lakh in India.
