Malayalam actor Mohanlal is on a roll. The actor has begun this year with lot of expectations on promo song trailer from his album "Lalisom" and trailer of his upcoming movie "Rasam".

The promo song has made it clear that the band and the song are all about the versatile actor and the "Lal Effect". The promo of the song begins with the famous theme song of his film "Sagar Alias Jacky" which is followed by a rendition by Mohanlal.

The trailer is much noticed for its visualisation, which has experimented with some interesting lighting techniques and Mohanlal's performance. The teaser also takes you through the visuals of some of the iconic characters played by Mohanlal.

During the launch event of the band, Mohanlal has said the band will be a travelogue of 36 years of film career through his film songs. The first show of the band is one of the most awaited as the actor has announced that the show will use the hologram technology.

He had also said that the show will reflect the philosophies of my life, a journey through my movies and significance of the songs in the movies. The concept of "Lalisom" was introduced to the actor by Ratheesh Vega.

Rasam

Mohanlal had more reasons to smile this week as the trailer of the upcoming movie "Rasam" was released. The trailer of the movie has kept to the word of the makers who said the film is all about food and aesthetics of food making and tasting. The upcoming movie is directed by T Rajeevnath.

Indrajith plays Balu, a restaurant owner and a MTech graduate. His father Guruvayoor Thirumeni (Nedumudi Venu), is a famous Namboothiri cook and is known for the delicacies he prepares; he is invited to Dubai to cook for the marriage of a businessman RJ Menon's daugther, played by debutant Varuna Shetty. Indrajith joins his father as chef for the wedding and what follows is a series of interesting incidents.

Mohanlal plays himself in the movie, who is a close friend of the business tycoon RJ Menon. The movie is set to release on 23 January.
