Akshay Kumar's impeccable comic timing in "Housefull 3" got the funny bones tickling; the box office figures are only proof of it. Trade experts have given reasons why the film has scored big.
A trade pundit said in a statement that the third installment set the cash registers ringing because it lived up to the hype the promotions had created. "'Housefull 3' was a complete joy ride for me. There were humungous expectations with the franchise and the film lived up to it. To remain smiling for 2 hours nonstop is no small feat. Don't look for logic, it offers plenty of laughs, just enjoy the ride," he further added.
"Unadulterated humour" is another aspect that is working for the comic caper. The critics may have panned it for the half-baked, barely-there script, but the gags (bordering on insane) are bringing in the needed cheers.
"The laughs, the whistles, the hysteria, single screens are going housefull everywhere , audiences can't get enough of the unadultered humour . It's like a celebration in theatres," Manoj Desai, executive director of G7 Multiplex, Maratha Mandir Cinema said in a statement.
The word of mouth is exceptional, which is why the shows are going really well, said PVR President Kamal Gianchandani. "People across age group are loving and we are confident that the film will have a spectacular run at the box office," Kamal added.
The five-day total (domestic) stands at Rs. 68.63 crore.
Directed by Sajid-Farhad, the film also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Lisa Haydon, Nargis Fakhri, Jackie Shroff and Boman Irani in key roles.
