In what appears as good news about the arrival of the petrol-powered Innova Crysta, the MPV has started arriving at the dealers of the company. A new set of images of the Toyota Innova Crysta petrol has started doing the rounds on the internet, consolidating the belief that the launch is around the corner.
The Innova Crysta petrol is expected to make its entry into the market on Aug. 8. The latest images from GaadiWaadi show a Garnet Red colour donned Innova Crysta petrol, which is believed to have been taken at a dealership yard. Toyota currently sells the Innova Crysta, the new avatar of the MPV, in India only with diesel engine options.
The Innova Crysta petrol will come powered by an in-line 4-cyl 2.7-litre unit that can churn out 164bhp at 5,200 rpm and 250Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. The transmission in the petrol avatar of the MPV is expected to be taken care of by a five-speed manual and six-speed automatic gearbox. Currently, the Innova Crysta is sold with 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre diesel engines.
Launched in May, the MPV has been earning tremendous response in the market and has received over 30,000 bookings for diesel models alone. The Innova Crysta petrol is expected to be priced at about Rs. 60,000 lower than the current diesel models. The MPV is currently retailed at a starting price of Rs. 13.83 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The new variant of the MPV is open for bookings in the country and is said to have got a waiting period of two months even before the launch.
