Toyota's new Innova Crysta has become an instant hit and the MPV has racked up over 30,000 bookings. The Innova Crysta, the new avatar of Toyota's popular model, the Innova, currently commands a waiting period of over two months in the country and it is likely to go up as the demand soars.
The latest is that Toyota has over 9,000 bookings for the Innova Crysta that is yet to be served. Toyota has delivered over 24,000 units of the Innova Crysta, reports Financial Express. It is also said that 50 percent of the Innova Crysta buyers preferred the automatic variants of the model and more than 95 percent have been bought for personal use. The pricing of the Innova Crysta is believed to be one the reasons for the change in the preference.
Toyota Innova Crysta is now available in both petrol and diesel engine options in the country. Under the hood, while the Innova Crysta petrol is powered by an in-line 4-cyl 2.7-litre unit, that can churn out 164bhp at 5,200 rpm and 250Nm of torque at 4,000rpm, the diesel variants of the Innova Crysta are sold with 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre diesel engines.
The 2,393cc diesel engine develops 148bhp of power and 243Nm of torque, while the 2,755cc mill churns out 172bhp and 360Nm of torque. The transmission is taken care of by a five-speed manual and six-speed automatic gearbox.
While the petrol variant of the Innova Crysta is priced at Rs. 13.72 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the diesel has a price tag of Rs. 13.83 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
