Toyota officially launched the new Innova Crysta in India on May 13 at a price point starting at Rs. 13.83 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Innova Crysta, the new avatar of the popular MPV Innova was open for bookings from May 2 and the model has got over 15,000 bookings within 10 days of its entry into the market.
Toyota at the launch of the Innova Crysta confirmed that over 60 percent of 15,000 bookings are for the top-end automatic variant of the model. The new Innova is offered in two grades with an automatic transmission (Zx and Gx) and four grades with manual transmission (Zx, Vx, Gx and G). The new MPV already has a waiting period of up to two months in cities like Mumbai, reported Press Trust of India (PTI).
The company is also planning to ramp up the production of the new Innova Crysta if the demand goes up. Toyota commenced the deliveries of the new Innova Crysta from May 13 in India.
Powered by 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre diesel engines, the MPV comes in three new colours -- garnet red, white pearl crystal shine and avant-garde bronze, along with the existing silver, grey and super white. While the 2,393cc diesel engine will develop 148bhp of power and 243Nm of torque, the 2,755cc mill will churn out 172bhp and 360Nm of torque. The engines come mated to either a five-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic gearbox.
It measures 4,735mm in length, 1,830mm in width, 1,795mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,750mm. On the safety front, the Innova Crysta packs SRS Airbags, vehicle stability control (VSC), hill assist control (HSC), antilock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and brake assist (BA).
