Toyota's new Innova Crysta MPV is proving to be a huge success in India. The MPV has bagged a third spot in the utility vehicle (UV) sales in September with sales of 7,300 units. Innova Crysta, the latest avatar of the popular Innova, has earned good response in the Indian market.
Innova Crysta continues to command a waiting period of over two months in India and it is being said that the waiting period might get stretched as the demand is going up in the country. Toyota Innova Crysta is now also available in Delhi and NCR after the lifting of the diesel ban. This could also add to the prolonged waiting period of the MPV.
Toyota Innova Crysta is now available in both petrol and diesel engine options in the country. Under the hood, Innova Crysta petrol is powered by an in-line 4-cyl 2.7-litre unit that can churn out 164bhp at 5,200 rpm and 250Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. The diesel variants of the Innova Crysta are sold with 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre diesel engines.
The 2,393cc diesel engine develops 148bhp of power and 243Nm of torque, while the 2,755cc mill churns out 172bhp and 360Nm of torque. The transmission is taken care of by a five-speed manual and six-speed automatic gearbox.
Apart from Innova Crysta, Toyota Kirloskar Motor sells Liva hatchback, Corolla Altis, Etios and Camry sedans, and Fortuner, Land Cruiser and Land Cruiser Prado SUVs in India priced between Rs 5.13 lakh and Rs 1.34 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).
