While Toyota is set to launch the Innova Crysta on May 3, there is still no clarification on the availability of a petrol engine with the popular MPV from the manufacturer. However, now a Gaadiwaadi report states that the petrol engine equipped Innova Crysta would be available later this year and it may sport a 2.7-litre engine.
The auto website detailed that Toyota sells the new Innova with a 2.7-litre petrol engine in the Indonesian market. The petrol mill is set to develop 165bhp and 245Nm of torque and it would be available in both manual and automatic transmissions.
Leaked brochure earlier confirmed that the diesel powered Innova Crysta will be available in two engines. The 2,393cc diesel engine will develop 148bhp of power and 243Nm of torque, while the bigger engine 2,755cc unit will develop 172bhp and 360Nm of torque. Diesel engine will also be available in automatic and manual transmissions.
The popular MPV in the new version will come with GX, VX and ZX trims. The Innova Crysta was introduced to the country at the Auto Expo 2016 in February. After the unveiling, Toyota dealers unofficially started booking for the MPV in March. The new generation Innova is entering the market 10 years after the first generation Innova was launched in India. The Innova is one of the models that retained healthy sales in the segment when many other MPVs were struggling for volume sales.
