Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has initiated sale of genuine spare parts online.
The Japanese manufacturer launched toyotapartsconnect as a pilot project, and currently ships parts to Bengaluru. However, it gradually plans to expand to other parts of the country as well and has marked a target of 2016.
Initially, prospective customers can buy close to 400 Toyota genuine spare parts such as brake pads, clutch plates, wiper blades, oil filters, air filters and many more. The website also features around 30 Toyota genuine accessories.
"We have a total of one million customers in India and our primary aim is to make them satisfied and loyal. Our new initiative of making spare parts available online is aimed at making it easier for them," Shekar Viswanathan, Vice-Chairman and Whole Time Director of TKM, told PTI.
The delivery model will be localised and when a customer purchases parts, the company's dealerships will take care of delivering them, he added.
The new website will sell spare parts for all the cars by TKM selling in India that include the Etios Liva, Etios, Etios Cross, Innova, Corolla Altis, Fortuner, Camry, Prius, Land Cruiser Prado and the Land Cruiser 200. Spares parts for the once popular Qualis are also available for purchase.
With the launch of the website, Toyota will be able to attract more customers with the easy procurement of the spare parts, which is otherwise a tedious job for many.
