While reports of Toyota Kirloskar Motor readying for a facelift of its Etios sedan and Liva hatchback for India fly thick, latest spy shots of the cars have confirmed the news.
The good folks at GaadiWaadi have managed to get a sneak peak into Toyota's upcoming Etios and Liva and have said that the duo look interesting in their new avatars. From these spy images, it looks like the cars are ready to take on the road and according to carparazzi, which got the latest pictures, both Etios and Liva facelifts will make their entry into our domestic market on 15 October.
In the spy shots, Etios is seen completely undisguised, showing us the bold and wide front grille, side profile and even the interior of the car. Both the cars pack features like reverse parking sensors, electrically adjustable OVRMs, driver side Airbag and Fabric upholstery and the cars are likely to remain unchanged mechanically.
The Etios sedan will continue to get power from the 1.5-litre petrol engine that can churn out 90 PS of power and 132 Nm of torque and a 1.4-litre diesel motor producing 68 PS power and 170 Nm of torque.
On the other hand, Toyota Liva will be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel motor, mated to 5-speed manual gearbox.
In the case of Etios new, the side and rear profiles of the vehicle resemble the current model. Inside the cabin, there seems to be a new dashboard, seat fabrics and door trims.
Once the cars hit the market, Toyota Etios will take on the likes of Nissan Sunny, Chevrolet Sail, while the hatchback will compete with Maruti Swift and Hyundai i20.
