Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is reportedly planning to launch the facelifted version of the Corolla Altis sedan early next year. The Corolla is sold in 150 countries throughout the globe and the facelift of this executive sedan was recently unveiled in Russia.
The facelift version of the sedan has undergone the much-needed nip and tuck. The new face has given a wider stance to the Corolla. The grille in chrome has been flanked by new LED headlamp clusters that include LED light guides. The reworked front bumper incorporates a large lower grille. The side profile has been updated with the door handles in chrome finish and the vehicle will be available with a choice of new 16-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels. The new LED tail lamp clusters and a chrome garnish above number plate are the changes at rear.
On the interior, the centre console has been revised with a larger 7-inch touchscreen. The facelift also boasts of a 4.2-inch multi-information display in the revised instrument console. For the India-spec, the interior colours will be combination of black and beige. The updated model features Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) that provides information on road ahead using windscreen head-mounted unit housing both a laser and a camera. The TSS also incorporates a Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Road Sign Assist (RSA) and Automatic High Beam (AHB). However, it is not known which of these safety features will be part of the India-spec model.
The new model is expected to continue with the current 1.4-litre diesel engine and 1.8-litre petrol engine in India. It will also continue with the same suspension set-up. A steep increase on decrease in pricing is also not expected in India. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs.13 lakh to Rs. 18 lakh, ex-showroom.
