Toyota Kirlosakar Motor has rearranged the Corolla Altis sedan's diesel variant trim level. As per the new trim level Toyota discontinued GL and JS diesel variants and added J+ variant. The discontinuation of top-spec GL trim effectively reduces the price of Corolla Altis diesel by Rs 1.4 lakh. The new top of the line trim is the recently launched Limited Edition model which is priced at Rs 16 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi.
The mid variant which was JS replaced by J+ variant is now priced at Rs 14.13 lakh at Delhi which is a reduced price by Rs 37,000. The base variant J is priced at 13.93 lakh. The petrol engine Corolla Altis' trim level remains unchanged. The base version is JS is priced at 13.06 lakh while the top-of-the-line VL variant is priced at 17.73 lakh, all prices ex-showroom, Delhi.
Toyota's recently launched Corolla Altis limited edition boats of smart link infotainment system which gets air and hand gesture controls. The system is also equipped with Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity. The car also comes with faux wood finishes at the door panel around the power window switches. The same treatment has also been applied to the gear knob.
The Corolla Altis is powered by a 1798cc in-line four cylinder dual VVT-i petrol engine that generates 138bhp at 6400rpm and 173Nm of torque at 4000rpm. The petrol unit is available with six-speed manual and seven-speed CVT transmission. The 1364cc in-line four cylinder D-4D diesel mill develops 87bhp at 3800rpm and 205Nm of torque at 1800-2800rpm mated to six-speed manual transmission.
