Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has put pen to paper on a new contract at White Hart Lane. The 19-year-old has consistently impressed under Mauricio Pochettino since returning from a loan spell with former club MK Dons in the summer of 2015, featuring 26 times in all competitions and netting five Premier League goals during a successful transition to the top flight.

Such fine form has also attracted the attention of England manager Roy Hodgson, with Alli fast-tracked through to make his senior international debut as a late replacement for Ross Barkley during a 2-0 Euro 2016 qualifying victory over Estonia in October 2015. He has since gone on to win four senior caps for his country, scoring for the first time with a 25-yard strike during an emotional win against France at Wembley.

Alli, who was previously under contract until 2020, added: Im delighted. The club has been really great to me since Ive come here and weve got a great young team. I can see us going forward and Im happy to be here.

I cant say its [the first six months] been easy but, like I said, theres a great bunch of boys here who have all helped me settle in well. All the staff here, I cant thank them all enough. Theyve all helped me settle in and made it easy for me to go out there and do my stuff.

While no specific financial details relating to Allis new deal have been released by the club, reports from The Times back in November 2015 claimed any new agreement would likely see the players annual wage double to approximately £25,000 ($36,000).

After rescuing a point for Tottenham with a fine volley against Everton at Goodison Park earlier in January, Alli was rested and reduced to a late cameo role during the 2-2 FA Cup third-round draw with Leicester City. He is almost certain to be restored to Pochettinos starting XI on 13 January as the Foxes visit north London for the second time in four days.
